How the Interactive Kiosk Supports Smart City Goals
The adoption of the Interactive Kiosk model FLR103-55” by the Iskandar Puteri City Council marks a significant step in enhancing public engagement and supporting Johor’s smart city vision. Since its establishment on March 1, 1978, covering an area of 104.7 square kilometers, Johor Bahru Tengah has undergone significant urban development, leading to the expansion of its administrative jurisdiction. This development was further propelled in 1995 when four major housing estates—Taman Daya, Taman Megah Ria, Bandar Baru Kota Puteri, and Taman Rinting—were transferred from the administration of the Johor Bahru District Council (MDJBT) to the Johor Bahru Municipal Council. Meanwhile, Taman Perling remained under MDJBT’s administration, resulting in a total area of 303.48 square kilometers under the jurisdiction of the Johor Bahru Municipal Council.
Further growth occurred with the ambitious development of Nusajaya City in the Mukim Jelutong and Mukim Tanjung Kupang areas. This expansion pushed the total administrative area to 560.71 square kilometers by December 31, 2015, highlighting the dynamic urbanization and economic growth in Johor Bahru Tengah. Nusajaya, now known as Iskandar Puteri, has become one of the key development corridors in Johor, attracting a wide range of investments and playing a crucial role in the state’s economic landscape.
On November 22, 2017, a significant milestone was reached when the new office of the Iskandar Puteri City Council (MBIP) was officially opened in Medini Iskandar City. The Proclamation Ceremony for the Upgrading of the Iskandar Puteri City Council was officiated by His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, the Sultan and Sovereign Ruler of Johor Darul Ta’zim. His Majesty witnessed the handing over of the certificate of acknowledgment from the Honorable Tan Sri Noh Bin Haji Omar, Minister of Housing and Local Government for Urban Well-being, to the Honorable Dato Mohamed Khaled bin Nordin, the Chief Minister of Johor. This historic moment marked the official declaration of the upgrade of Iskandar Puteri from a municipal council to a city council, reflecting its rapid growth and increasing importance in the region.
In conjunction with this growth and modernization, the Iskandar Puteri City Council sought to enhance its public engagement efforts and elevate the experience of attending their events. As part of their initiative to utilize cutting-edge technology, they decided to purchase our Interactive Kiosk model FLR103-55” for event usage.
